A few minutes from the Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3 University, near the subway stop Censier Daubeton (subway number 7), the historical district of the rue Mouffetard has a great number of restaurant which offer mostly French specialties. To find this renown Parisian street, from the exit of Censier-Daubeton, walk towards rue Monge and  then take the second street on the left, rue l’épée bois.   • Jardin des Plantes :
From the main entrance of the Sorbonne Nouvelle University, we invite you to continue on your right and follow the rue Censier. This road will you lead you to the entrance of the Jardin des Plantes, which is located at the intersection between rue Geoffroy Saint-Hilare and Censier. Thanks to its grand size, this garden hosts a mini zoo, the Grand Gallery of Evolution and the National Museum of Natural History.
  • Square Tino Rossi :
To get to this square, cross the length of the Jardin des Plantes walking North. You will then arrive in front of the Quai Saint-Bernard. Cross the Quai and you will be able to access this little square which follows the Seine River.
  • Square Scipion :
This little corner of greenery is the nearest to the campus. To get there take  a right immediately after exiting the main entrance of the campus.  You will then find yourself on the rue Du Fer Du Moulin, which is located at the intersection of rue Santeuil. Then, continue on your right…and you will be just a few steps from the Scipion Square.
  • Square des Arènes de Lutèce :
You can take advantage of the Arènes de Lutèce (Lutèce Roman Arena) thanks to its adjoining park. The entrance of this square is found a bit further than the others. After exiting the Sorbonne Nouvelle University, continue down the rue Censier on your left, until you arrive at the rue Monge. Then, take the rue Monge, in the northern direction.  Continue walking on this street for about 5 minutes, then take the fifth street on your right. The Arènes de Lutèce Squareis located at the intersection between rue Monge and rue de Navarre.

Rue Soufflot :
Near to the Café Le Luxembourg, and  a few  steps from the RER Luxembourg the train stop, you’ll find  rue Soufflot the street that leads directly to the iconic Place du Panthéon.
La Geuze :
This 70’s style pub is located at 19, rue Soufflot and is open everyday from 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. (to 4:00 a.m. on the week end).  It offers a large choice of beers, and is an excellent place to have some good fun.

On Friday July 6th as you will be required to join us at the Sorbonne by your own means, we advise you to stay in the vicinity of the Sorbonne University- Paris 3, so as to take advantage  of the bakeries before participating in the sessions. Be aware that the area around the Old Sorbonne offers mostly restaurants.

  • Jardin du Luxembourg 
At the exit of the Sorbonne, 17 rue des Ecoles, continue on your left, and then to go along the rue des Ecoles, which will permit to have access to the Boulevard Saint-Michel. When you’ve arrived Saint-Michel, take your left once more, then follow the Boulevard. You will arrive at the Jardin du Luxembourg in about five minutes.
  • Jardin Carré :
From the exit of the Sorbonne, turn right. Then, take the fourth right to arrive at the rue de la Montagne. Keep walking along this street which eventually becomes the rue Descartes. Here you’ll find the Jardin Carré. 
In rue des Ecoles are two Squares :
  • Square F.A. Mariette:
Located in front of the College de France, this park is accessible by crossing the rue Saint-Jacques, which is located at the intersection of rue des Ecoles.
  • Square P. Langevin:
Home to several historical statues, this square is situated at the corner between rue des Ecoles and the rue Monge. This square even has some of the archeological remains of the Pavillon of the Beaux-Arts from the Universal Exposition of 1889. If you arrive from the direction of rue des Ecoles, this intersection is situated on the fifth street on your right.
  • Square du Musée de Cluny :
Still from 17 rue des Ecoles, continue on your left until you arrive at the Boulevard Saint-Michel. When you have arrived, turn your right to enter this square which is located just a stone’s throw from here.
